The Tierschutzverein Frankfurt am Main und Umgebung von 1841 e. V. is one of the oldest animal welfare associations in Germany. In the shelter, abandoned, injured and abused animals are cared for and rehabilitated, while the associated sanctuary provides a home for around 150 animals that are old, ill or difficult to place.
After getting to know each other and taking a tour of the site, you will be introduced to your activities. The areas of responsibility vary as required and are coordinated in advance by the animal shelter. For example, you can help out on the animal shelter grounds, clean up the dog runs or carry out small repairs on the outdoor area. Each task contributes to improving the animals' quality of life and supporting the shelter. At noon, there is a snack and a breather, then the tasks are completed and we complete the day together by 4 pm at the latest.
