Volunteering plays an enormous role in the Münchenstift retirement home. More than 100 volunteers are currently volunteering in the retirement home on a long-term basis, donating one of the most valuable assets in life to residents: time! Some seniors have no relatives or live too far away to visit their loved ones regularly. It is therefore all the more important to provide seniors with variety and social interaction and thus sweeten their lives.
The residents also rarely have the opportunity to go on a trip. Therefore, after a brief introduction to the history of Münchenstift, you will get to know your senior partner for the morning and we will walk together to Café Wetterstein, which is about a 30-minute walk away. There is ice cream, coffee and cake for everyone and the opportunity for seniors to talk about their past — so be excited and look forward to exciting stories.
You will be accompanied by two to three care providers from the old people's home, who will answer any questions you may have. You then head back to Münchenstift together and you say goodbye to the residents after a short round of feedback.
IMPORTANT: Please be patient and understand the needs of seniors, wear comfortable footwear and sun protection if necessary. In very bad weather, we spend the day with the seniors playing, playing music, etc. and taking a short break in the in-house café (you will receive the update by Monday, 16.09.). The number of participants is limited to 15 people.
