A look behind the scenes: Our Social Day at Aktion Brücke e.V.

When the storage shelves fill up with gift packages, boxes are packed with groceries and Christmas music plays, there is a lot of passion behind it. Shortly before Christmas 2024, as a team from lets, we had the opportunity to support Aktion Brücke e.V. in their preparations for the holidays — and it was much more than just a voluntary effort.
Aktion Brücke e.V. works for homeless and needy people in Munich and in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck. The work of the association is particularly important during the cold season, as many people depend on warm clothing, food and small Christmas gifts. We were all the more pleased to be able to make a small contribution to this. Dmitriy from the lets team talks about what he particularly remembers about Social Day.

After a short introduction, we started straight away — not empty-handed, but full energy. Our tasks were varied and offered us an exciting glimpse behind the scenes of the organization:
Sort and prepare Christmas gifts
Lovingly packaged gift packages were checked, sorted and made available for distribution. Every package should arrive exactly where it's needed — a bit of Christmas magic to take home.
Acceptance and sorting of donations
Clothing, food and hygiene items were checked, sorted and prepared for transfer. In doing so, we became aware of how valuable every single donation is — and how important the logistics behind it so that everything gets to where it is needed.
Pack food parcels for delivery
Especially during the cold season, a hot meal is essential for survival. Together, we put together bags of basic groceries and small extras to help homeless and needy people over the holidays.
Christmas music and team spirit
In addition to all the work, there was also no shortage of fun — Christmas songs accompanied us throughout the day, and in between there was always time for a smile and a nice conversation. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and it felt like we were part of a big team.
The day at Aktion Brücke was not only an opportunity for us to give time, but also a moment of conscious pause. We've all experienced how important commitment is — and that every helping hand counts. It was an unforgettable day full of meaningful work, team spirit and genuine Christmas joy.

We are already looking forward to the next Social Day and to working with Aktion Brücke again in 2025!
